Success and failure
We need to set our grid for success and failure according to a Kingdom mindset.
Should we have better terms than success and failure – ones that also encapsulate the journey as well as the outcome – flourishing or fruitfulness?
Contending
Success and flourishing are not handed to us on a plate – contending for them is often necessary.
Faith properly positioned when persevering helps us to stand well when we’ve done everything.
Redeeming power
The abuse of power leads to the diminishing of others, preventing them from fulfilling their God-given purpose
As disciples of Jesus, restored to our original created image-bearing capability, we are empowered for flourishing
Wealth and the Kingdom: discipling Mammon
Mammon causes us to forfeit our liberty in Christ.
We do not serve money; money serves us as we serve God.
Wealth and the Kingdom: discipling a poverty mindset
Poverty thinking says there is never enough. It attacks us at the deepest level of our identity, value and purpose.
We are disciples before being consumers; our old nature’s desire to consume is consumed in his Presence and purpose
Creating culture
Key points:
We model the culture that we create in our enterprise.
As Kingdom people, it’s heaven’s culture that we want to be demonstrated and experienced.
Integrity
Integrity reveals our value system.
Fear losing the closeness of his presence more than the fear of missing out or the displeasure of those living according to the post-Christian culture and value system.
Humble heartedness
Humility leads to a healthy self-esteem though understanding our identity in Christ and our place before Father
Knowing our identity enables us to joyfully accept the gifts, position and influences that God gives us to serve others in our communities
Laying a good foundation
Key points:
Keep well connected with Father God.
Get, and keep yourself whole.
Citizens of heaven, resident on earth
Key points:
We are citizens of heaven with God’s mandate to extend his Kingdom on earth.
He places us in positions where we influence people, neighbourhoods, cultures and nations.
